Mr. Jack Cleveland Brazeal, Sr., age 87, of Franklin passed away May 1, 2020.
There will be a private graveside service for immediate family to be held at High Point Church of God Cemetery with Rev. Mark Tatum officiating.
Mr. Brazeal was born March 8, 1933 in Heard County.
His mother, Odessa Lancaster Brazeal, passed away shortly after his birth.
His father, the late John C. Brazeal, married a second time to the late Evie Spradlin.
He served his country in the US Army during the Korean War and rose to the rank of Staff Sergeant. He had an intense love for his country and was a member of the American Legion Post 148.
Prior to his retirement, he was employed by the Heard County Roads Department.
He was an active member of High Point Church of God, where he served as the Sunday School Superintendent for many years.
Among his favorite pastimes were farming, gardening and hunting. He always enjoyed being outdoors.
His most precious times were spent with family and friends, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Among his favorite outings were trips to Gospel singings with his beloved wife, Joan. They had been married almost 64 years.
Survivors include his wife, Joan Brazeal of Franklin; two sons, Jack C. Brazeal, Jr. and John D. Brazeal (Janet) all of Franklin; six grandchildren, Jason Brazeal, Joshua Brazeal, Bobbie Katen (Chris), Todd Huey (Ashley), Chelsea Butler (Dillon), and Taylor Brazeal; 10 great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, John C. Brazeal; his mother, Odessa Brazeal; his step-mother, Evie Brazeal; four sisters: Gladys Bell, Grace Dean, Gene Adcock, and Jacqueline Brazeal; and four brothers, Bill Brazeal, Glen Brazeal, Colbert Brazeal, and Alvin Brazeal.
