Lettye M. Brown, 85, died Friday March 27, 2015 at the home after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimers, which took many of the memories of her life. She was born in Graham, NC on September 22, 1929 to the late Dr. Samuel and Ethel Maxwell, a Methodist Minister.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Paul Brown and a son, Dr. James S. (Toby) Brown. She is survived by her daughter, Jorja Henson and husband Kenneth, four grandchildren; Josh Brown and wife Lindsey of Charlotte, NC, Meredith Cruise and husband Shane of Raleigh, NC, Coburn Murray and wife Melissa of Raleigh and Adam Murray and wife Jackie of Raleigh, NC. She also has four great grandchildren. Her children and grandchildren were the joy of her life and always made her eyes sparkle when they were in her presence.

Lettye was a charter member of Fellowship Methodist in Hamlet, NC. She served as a court stenographer in Richmond County, NC from 1970 to 1995.

Her love of music enabled her to continue playing the piano for all of her adult life and was able to play virtually any hymn from memory-something Alzheimers could not diminish.

A Celebration of Life Remembrance will be held at 415 White Columns Way on Sunday, March 29, 2015 at 3PM. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the Alzheimers Research foundation.
