J.B. Harp, age 96, passed away on Monday, May 4, 2020 in Clyde.

Graveside services will be at 1 PM on Saturday, May 9, 2020 at Midway Cemetery with Rev. Mike Jones officiating. Burial is under the direction of Elliott Hamil Funeral Home.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 8, 2020 from 6 to 7:30 PM at the Elliott Hamil Funeral Home Chapel.

J.B. was born on February 2, 1924 in Lamesa, Texas to L.E. and Jennie Jewel (Wilson) Harp.

He married Betty Louise Caston on October 20, 1950 in San Angelo, and they moved to Abilene in 1955.

He served his country proudly in the United States Air Force during WWII and the Korean Conflict.

He was a former member of Westminister Presbyterian Church, and served as deacon and Sunday School teacher and worked the nursery at St. Columbia Presbyterian Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Betty Louise Harp, daughter Julie, brothers R.A. Harp, Delmar Harp and L.Z. Harp, and sister Yvonne.

Survivors include a son, Danny Harp; brother, Deverel Harp; sisters, Betty Britton and Peggy Bolick; five grandchildren, Chris, Michael, Erik, Blake and Kevin; six great-grandchildren, Caston, Cheyenne, Cameron, Reagan, Harley and Lizzie; two great-great-grandchildren, Sophia and Rosie; and several extended family and friends.
