Tony, age 44, died after battling a fire in an apartment complex in southwest Topeka. He was the son of Walter Phillip, Jr. and Iva Lou (Morgan) Cox. He graduated from Topeka (KS) West High School. He was a 21 year veteran of the Topeka Fire Department and assigned to Fire Station #8 at 2700 SW Fairlawn Road. He married Karrie Youngbear on September 17, 2006, in Galveston, Texas. Survivors include his wife, his children, Derek Cox, Morgan Cox, and Baylee Cox, his mother, and his sisters, Kelly Drummond and Dotty Karnowski. He was preceded in death by his father and his siblings, Shelby Scott and Daniel Brian Cox.
