Scott (Scooter) Alan Hawkins, 48, passed away unexpectedly 5 Feb 2020 at his home. From the moment he was born, he defied all odds. He came into this world underweight and blue from the umbilical cord wrapped around his neck. The doctors informed his parents to prepare for him not living to see his first birthday. They indicated that even if he did live, he would likely never walk. Lucky for all of us, he was a fighter with a different plan in mind. His Grandma Thompson and Mother Diane spent relentless hours caring for him so that he could walk. It was this love and care that perpetuated him to live past his first birthday and for 48 wonderful years. Even though he always scooted his feet, he indeed spend those years walking. This did require several pairs of white Nike shoes with a blue swoosh (no substitutes allowed!) but he walked nonetheless. Scott loved to work but he also loved to laugh and and have fun. He would always make sure and keep his nieces and nephews in line but enjoyed teasing them as well. He never stepped out of line or teased his big sisteer Michelle though, not even if she was fair game but it was all done out of brotherly love.

Scott loved sports. He loved to play basketball with his friend Chad and soccer with his best bud Nick. even though he slept through most of the games, he also enjoyed watching football and basketball, especially the Utah Jazz. We still loved him even though he was a Green Bay Packers fan. He loved baking but nothing beat home cooked meals prepared by his big sister Michelle. We are all pretty sure this is why he didn't mess with her. He also loved going to church and spending time with his family. We are grateful for the love and support the Wilson 4th and Taylor 5th Wards provided to him.

We are especially grateful for the care and love that the CTA staff at his group home provided. Through them he was able to do so much and have many wonderful experiences, They were a huge part of his life and took amazing care of him. He always enjoyed adventures but for Scott there was no place like home with his group home.

None of us had any idea how much he would teach each of our lives. He taught all of us so much, especially how to be a genuine person despite being "different." He had a way of stealing your heart without you realizing it . We will miss everything about him especially his laughter and smile.

He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
