Lyle C. Sparrow was born Aug. 9, 1906, in Newcomb Township, a son of Virgil C. and Ida Overmeyer Sparrow. He married Edna Russell Dec. 21, 1932, at Clinton. She survives.
Also surviving are a son, Lyle E.; a sister, Alta Claypool; and two grandsons.
He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
He was a retired farmer and a member of the Shiloh United Methodist Church in rural Mahomet, the Oddfellows Lodge No. 704 of Fisher, the Owl Creek Rebekah Lodge no. 91 of Fisher and the Fisher Lion's Club.
He had been a member of the Fisher Fair Board for at least 35 years.
