Patricia Ann "Shann" Hardesty Rocco, wife of James Richard "Jim" Rocco and mother to Isabella and William, of Sullivan's Island, South Carolina, passed away peacefully Sunday, August 12, 2007, at MUSC. The funeral service will be Saturday, August 18, 2007 at three o'clock, at Holy Cross Episcopal Church on Sullivan's Island, followed by a graveside service at "The River House," 620 West Ashley Road, Folly Beach, South Carolina. The family will receive friends at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL, 1494 Mathis Ferry Road, on Friday from 2:00 PM until 7:00PM and again on Saturday from 10:00AM until 12:00 noon. Shann was born on June 17, 1965, in New Orleans, Louisiana, daughter of Patrick George Hardesty and Patricia Edwins Hardesty. She graduated from Louisiana State University, where she received her Masters Degree in Public Relations. She is survived by her husband and their beloved children of Sullivan's Island; her parents of Lafayette, Louisiana; one brother, Patrick Hardesty of New Orleans, Louisiana; and one sister, Dilly Lancomb of Houston, Texas. Known for her fierce devotion to her adoring family and to the extraordinary number of friends who counted her among their finest blessings, Shann headed up the "MaMa Sisterhood," an informal, everybody's-welcome support group through which Shann's front-porch advice, care, and love formed a wide-reaching foundation for her community. Shann was also a passionate student of the world. She and Jim traveled together on trips to cities and countries, most joyously with their young children.
