Robert Brutus Cox
September 25, 1939 - April 25, 2020
Robert Brutus Cox, age 80, of Three Links, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, April 25, 2020 at his home. He was born September 25, 1939 in Three Links to the late Jason and Okla Martin Cox. Brutus was of the Baptist faith, he was a cherished father, grandfather, and friend. He was generous with his money and time, and enjoyed being a part of the Masonic Lodge, he was the past Master of the Nicholasville Masonic Lodge #61 F. & A. M. and was also a member of the Oleika Shriners in Lexington, Kentucky. Brutus was retired from General Electric’s Lamp plant in Lexington as a machinist first class. He stayed busy in retirement raising tobacco and tending cattle on his farm, it was there he instilled love and learning in his grandchildren, he always enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, he was an avid traveler with his family and Mexico was his favorite place to visit. Brutus was a big history buff and an excellent photographer.
Other than his parents he was also preceded in death by his son, Jason David Cox; three brothers, Edward, Martin, and Sam; three sisters, Dorothy, Kathleen, and Geraldine. One great grandchild Sierra also preceded him.
Survivors include his brother, Vernon Lloyd Cox of Lexington, KY, two daughters Deborah Rhodes and Donna McFeely and her husband Bill all of Nicholasville, KY, one son Robert Brutus Cox, Jr. of Hillsboro, AL, a dear sister-in-law Elvina, six grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Brutus was council to many family members as there was no secret too big for him to hold. The warmth of Brutus’ laugh and charming presence will be missed, but not forgotten!
Due to the Covid 19 (Coronavirus) there will be a drive through visitation Friday, May 1st from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Davis & Powell Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be private.. Services will be officiated by Rev. Bill Ellis and burial will follow in the Serenity Hill Cemetery at Three Links. Masonic rites will be given. Actually called Pleasant Hill...
