Dwight David Davis, age 58, passed away on Monday, May 26, 2014 at his residence in Baton Rouge, LA.

Dwight was born in Almirante, Panama and spent his childhood years there. After spending early years in Central America, he graduated from Columbia Military Academy, in Columbia, Tennessee. He later obtained his bachelor's degree in Parks and Recreation from Mississippi State University and received his associate's degree in horticulture from Gwinnett College in Lawrenceville, GA.

Dwight was a knowledgeable, senior level horticulturist. His horticulture knowledge helped him receive the honors of the Louisiana Accredited Nursery, American Rhododendron Society, GA Perennial Society, GGIA Professionally Accredited Nurseryman and the Greater Atlanta Nurseryman Association. Dwight's other special talents and interests were in the art of cooking and most of all possessed a great love for music.

He is survived by his former wife, Linda Davis; son, Ben Davis; father, Marvin Earl Davis and his wife, Rose; brothers Rick Davis and wife Pam, CC Davis and wife Deborah, John Davis and wife Ven; sister Dolly Davis; stepdaughter Jennifer Lambert; stepson Kemp Tricou and wife Amy; nephews Jonathan Davis, Nathan Davis, Cole Davis and Cameron Davis; step-grandchildren Kaleb Lambert and Alex Lambert. He is preceded in death by his mother, Celia Colleen Davis. Memorial services will be Saturday, June 21, 2014 at 10:00 am in Laurel, Mississippi.
