Shirley Herrington-McLane, born December 6, 1935 in the Sand Flat/Brushy Creek area, was called from this life at home, April 27, 2020, surrounded by her loving family in Frankston, TX. She was 84 years old. Graveside services will be held April 29, 2020 at Wofford Cemetery in Frankston.

Mrs. McLane attended Frankston schools as well many class reunions and homecomings throughout the years. She was married to Richard “Sparky” McLane for 59 years, during which time they were both faithful members of the Frankston Church of Christ.

She is proceeded in death by her mother Corine Herrington, father Bruce Herrington, husband Richard McLane, daughter Ramona Gail McLane, and her brother Curtis Herrington.

She is survived and deeply loved by her brother Charles Herrington of Palestine, TX, her children Ricky McLane of Frankston, TX , Mary Poulsen and husband John of Benbrook, TX, and Joe McLane and wife Vicky of Liberty City, TX, as well as her grandchildren Frank Poulsen, Elizabeth Poulsen, Heather McLane, Randy McLane, Kolton Norton and Haylie Norton.

As a homemaker, she most enjoyed cooking for her family and friends and was not happy until everyone had their favorite dish. Hunters in the family always knew they would come home to enjoy a big breakfast, and her chicken fried steak was the best. She was an excellent baker, and be it for a benefit, baby or wedding shower everyone knew who to call for an amazing Italian Cream cake, East Texas’ best peach cobbler, or her signature punch. She could often be found participating in the local nursing home’s birthday parties, and church get togethers.
