He married Mary Jane Davis on March 7, 1944, in Chenoa. She survives.
Other survivors include a daughter, Bertha Smith, Toluca; sisters, Tillie Faw, Fairbury, and Jessie Ward, Huntington Park, Calif. ; and two grandsons.
Two brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.
An Army veteran of World War II, he was a member of the Toluca American Legion Post.
He had farmed most of his life in the Toluca area and last worked as a security guard at Lake Wildwood, near Varna.
