Mary Jo “MaJo” Barrett, age 90, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 19, 2020 at home in Cedar Hill, Texas. She was born January 10, 1930 in Cedar Hill. She was a loving and proud mother and MaJo to all her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. MaJo was loved so much and will be missed greatly. She was preceded in death by her parents, John “Bud” Sims and Flossie “Muddy” Sims; husband, Von Barrett; grandson, Aaron Barrett; loving friend and companion. W.D. “Dub” Orlds. She is survived by her children, Barbara Sample and husband, Dave; Billy Barrett and wife D’Ann; grandchildren, Mindy Sumpter and husband, Casey, Casey Widness and husband, Kasey, Chris Hollis, Zack Hollis, James Wilson and wife, Cameron; 15 great grandchildren; brothers, Charles Ray Sims and wife, Verna Jean, and John Sims and wife, Dorinda. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Her memories will always be cherished and she will forever be missed by those she left behind. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
