The son of Elijah "Lige" W. Ashford, [a veteran of the Civil War who served with the CSA, in the 18th Tennessee Infantry] and Mary L. Ashford (daughter of Alexander "Jack" Campbell Milligan, a soldier in the Civil War serving in the CSA from Tennessee and Susan Tittle).


He married Lela King on June 12, 1907 in Cannon County, Tennessee. He died before the 1910 Census for Cannon County, Tennessee, leaving a widow and a young son, Willie Brown Ashford.

Mary Alice Ashford/Dennis (Aug. 1861 - ?); wife of Rufus Alonzo Dennis

Annie Josephine E. Ashford/Bogle (Sep. 3, 1868 – Mar. 10, 1916); wife of Frank P. Bogle

His burial location is not know for sure but as many of his relatives are buried there OR at Prosperity with WIFE.. & her family. HIS FATHER"s location has BEEN ADDED to HIGGINS CEMETERY in LINCOLN COUNTY. THAT SHOULD BE HIGGINS CEMETERY IN CANNON COUNTY, TN.
