George R. Angell Sr., age 80, of Rhinelander, WI died on Dec. 24, 2013, at his home, with his family at his side.
He was born in Glen Flora, on Sept. 9, 1933 to Forrest and Pearl (Offner) Angell.

George graduated from Phillips High School in 1951 and then served his country with the United States Air Force in the Korean War. He entered in August of 1951 and was honorably discharged in August of 1955.

After his service, George worked the rest of his adult life in the printing, laminating and extruding business. He was employed for many years by Printpack here in Rhinelander. In his free time, George was an avid gardner, fisherman and hunter. He loved all sports especially the Packers, Brewers and Badgers. He loved watching his many grandkids participate in their own sports.

George was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Eagle River.

On May 3, 1952, in Menasha, George stood before his Lord and Savior and was united in marriage to Betty Jane Sauer. Together they put God first in their life and he blessed them with a wonderful family.
They include his wife, Betty;
his three daughters: Chris Angell, Nancy (Brian) Gehrig and Marlene (Mark) Rudolph, all of Rhinelander, WI;
his five sons: Dennis (Cathy) Angell of Minneapolis, Minn.; George (Terri) Angell Jr. of Rhinelander, WI; Timothy (Janet) Angell of Minneapolis, Minn.; Kenneth (Lori) Angell of Green Bay, WI and David (special friend Trish) Angell of Wausau, WI;
20 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren;
four sisters: Helen (Roy) Zeh of Peshtigo, WI; Karen (Jack) Grade of Shawano, WI; Judy (Roger) Bradley of Johnson City, Tenn. and Pam (Terry) Zielinski of Neenah, WI;
his five brothers: William (Juanita) Angell of Pendelton, Ore.; Robert (Sandra) Angell of Eagle River, WI; Danny (Nancy) Angell of Kaukauna, WI; Lanny (Pat) Angell and James Angell, both of Coleman, WI; many nieces, nephews, other family and many friends.

George was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Mary Lou Blanchette and Elizabeth Angell-Fahrenkrug; and two brothers, Charles Angell and Donald Angell.

Funeral services for George will be held on Monday, Dec. 30, 2013 at noon at the Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Eagle River, WI. The Reverend William Trosien will officiate. Visitation for George will be held from 10 a.m. until just prior to the services on Monday, Dec. 30, 2013 at the Our Savior's Lutheran Church.
