Paul was born in Biddeford, ME May 13, 1941, son of Joseph T. and Elda (Guyette) Robie. He lived and attended school in Kennebunk until he was drafted into the Army in April of 1965. He was shipped to Fort Dix, NJ for basic training and became a Medical Supply Specialist, receiving the Good Conduct medal. Paul then went to 485 Preventive Medicine Unit in Ludwigsburg, Germany, then US Army Medical Equipment Repair School at Fitzsimmons General Hospital, Denver, CO, then Walter Reed Army Medical Center, Washington, DC. Paul was shipped to Viet Nam, serving in 93 Evac Hospital Long Binh and the 36th Evac Hospital Vung Tau.

When Paul returned to the States, he worked retail for many years; living in California for 10 years before returning to Maine where he was employed at York Hospital in Medical Records.

Paul was very active in the Sanford Springvale area as Chairman and Past Chairman of the Cemetery Committee; Sanford Springvale Veterans Memorial Committee; Board of Directors of Riverside Cemetery, Springvale and a Pease Greeter for many years.

He was District Treasurer in District 1 American Legion; Vice Commander American Legion Post #19, Springvale; Commander 2009-10, 2010-11 and 2016; Commander of the VFW in Sanford 2009-2010; lifetime member of the VFW Post #5744 in South Berwick and member of the TW Cole Post #19 Springvale. Paul was a recipient of the Silver Rose Medal, Quilt of Valor 2017 and Eagle Cane 2017.

Paul is survived by 2 sisters; Janet Robie Hooke of North Berwick and Marion MacMillan and husband Robert of Standish; many nieces and nephews; and good friend Dale Midgley of Kennebunk.Paul 78 of Sanford died April 23 at Maine Veteran's Home. He was an Army medic serving at evacuation hospitals during the Vietnam War. He later worked for medical records at York Hospital and was active in local cemetery and veterans groups.
