Mrs. Desire Langworthy died of pneumonia Monday, the 23d inst., after a few weeks' illness, in her 80th year. The funeral was held Thursday at the residence of her son, Irwin Langworthy, where she has resided for above 35 years. Rev. Mr. Pendleton, of Columbus Quarter, conducted the services. A large procession followed the remains which were laid by the side of her husband, the late Franklin Langworthy, in West Edmeston cemetery. Her daughter, Mrs. Lucina Carr, and husband, of Illinois, arrived here several days before her death. The deceased was a lady of many estimable qualities and will be greatly missed. She was a member of the Free Will Baptist church of Columbus Quarter. Her children who survive her besides those mentioned above are Mrs. Frank Huntington, of Leonardsville, and Hollum and Morgan Langworthy, of West Edmeston. She was blessed with an unusally large number of grandchildren, having twenty-five in all, besides having five great-grandchilren. Six of her grandsons acted as bearers at her funeral. She was a woman who disliked all pomp and ceremony and her every day life was filled with work for others, and we believe her memory will live long in the hearts of her dear ones.
