Elizabeth was a daughter of Henry and Susanna Kuehner, and a sister of Abraham.

Elizabeth married William Sandborn on February 22, 1842. The couple lived in Waterloo Township, Ontario, where William was a farmer. They had five daughters:
- Mary (1843-1920)
- Susannah (1844-1917)
- Anna (1848-1928
- Elizabeth (1850-?)
- Amanda (1853-?)

Elizabeth died in November 1855 at the age of 41 years.

William married again to Christine Wentzel in April 1856. They had eight children. At some time after 1870, their family moved to Leelanau County, Michigan, where William died in March 1889.
