Mr. Blackwell was born in Hamilton, Ore., on January 27, 1888, and spent all of his life in the Monument country where he was engaged in stock raising and farming. He was the son of Richard Blackwell and Margaret Malinda "Maggie" (Cobb) Blackwell.
He is survived by four sisters and two brothers all of whom were in Monument for the funeral services. They are Mrs. Ann Shields, Long Creek; Mrs. Dan Long, Echo; Mrs. A. C. Ford, Portland; Mrs. E. M. Colvin, Salem; Blaine Blackwell, Salem; and Minor Blackwell, Monument.
