Obituary: Arlena Virginia Alt Kimble, age 97 of Petesburg, WV, passed away on Wednesday, April 22, 2020 at the Grant Rehabilitation & Care Center in Petersburg. She was born on June 9, 1922 in Petersburg, WV, the daughter of the late Andrew Jackson Riggleman and Dora (Kite) Riggleman. Arlena was preceded in death by her first husband, Sherman D. Alt in 1968 and her second husband, whom she married in 1972, Carl A. Kimble Sr. on July 24, 2019. Mrs. Kimble attended school in Dorcas and was a former member of the Dorcas Baptist Church, later attending Brushy Run Church of the Brethren. Arlena was a loving mother and homemaker. She worked for Dr. CE King for 7 years and was a former cook at Johnson Run School. Mrs. Kimble enjoyed spending time with her family, baby sitting, and doing ceramics. Mrs. Kimble is survived by: 3 sons, Isaac “Sonny” Alt (Judy) of Keyser, WV, Louie Alt (Kathy) of Fisher, WV, Michael S. Alt (Trina) of Upper Tract, WV; 3 step-sons, Carl Kimble, Jr. (Martha) of Moyers, WV, Joseph Kimble (Shirley) of Upper Tract, WV and John Kimble (Shirley) of Smoke Hole, WV; a special nephew, Delmas Alt (Juanita) that she raised as a son; 1 sister, Genevieve Vance of Cumberland, MD; 1 brother, Marcell Riggleman (Carolyn) of Stephens City, VA; 5 grandchildren, 6 step-grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by: 2 brothers, Hetz and Gordon Riggleman and 1 sister, Jessie Mae Crites. Due to the pandemic, we are taking government recommendations into consideration and we encourage online expressions of sympathy to the family. Pastor Ken Hamilton will conduct a private graveside service at the Lahmansville, Cemetery in Lahmansville, WV.
