Tony enlisted in the United States Army on December 30, 1987. He met and married his lovely wife Rochelle on November 23, 1994. Tony served his country with honor and pride for 22 year and retired with the rank of Master Sergeant. Tony served on various military installations locations ending his tenure of the military at Fort Myer (Arlington, Virginia). He held the following positions: Supply Sergeant, Operations Sergeant, Platoon Sergeant, Battalion S-4 Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge, Property Book Officer and as a Senior Enlisted Advisor. He received numerous military awards to include, the Combat Campaign Medals.
Upon retiring from the military in 2009, Tony was employed with the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Office of Diversity and Civil Rights as the Model Workplace Management Analyst. He assisted with the Workforce Data Analysis and preparation of the Agency’s annual Disabled Veterans Affirmative Action Program (DVAAP), Federal Equal Opportunity Recruitment Program (FEORP), Annual Federal Plan and Performance On Executive Agency Actions to Assist Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), Tribal Colleges and Universities (TC&Us) and Equal Employment Opportunity Program Status (MD-715) Reports.
Tony graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the American University and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in Quality Systems Management from The National Graduate School. He was a graduate of many courses and training with certifications to including: Equal Employment Officer (EEO) Investigators Course, Basic MD-715 Course and Advanced Barrier Analysis course.
Tony was preceded in death by his grandparents, Clifton and Irene Bonner; uncles, James "Mac", Calvin "Coon", and Robert "Manboy" Bonner.
Tony leaves to cherish his memories with love: his wife, Dr. Rochelle Cowden; parents, Carolyn and Herman Jones; brother, David (Latesha); niece, Saavy and nephew, Basham Jones. Tony’s memories will also be cherished with love by: two aunts, Lucy Griffin and Edna Cain (William); cousins, Tracy Bonner, James Jones, Annalisa Perpall, Willisena Vest (Quincy), Darryl Bonner, Kevin Bonner, Cameron Bonner, Aerial Jones, Edtina Cain, Domonick Cain, Clifton Cain, Jabari Turner, Whitney Perpall, Carolyn Perpall, Damond McGlaughin, Quincy Vest, Jr., Shawn Mason, Jr., Seneca Binns, Jr., Niajah Coleman, Alonzo and Alono Goldsmith; best friends, Kenneth Lee, Ernest McClinton, Marvin Michael, Tony Miah, and Travonte Moen; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Service will be held 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, March 18, 2020 in the Chapel of J. M. Wilkerson Funeral Establishment, Inc., 102 South Avenue, Petersburg, VA. The interment at Arlington National Cemetery.
