Adelia was born in Sangalhos, Portugal and immigrated to the United States in 1986. A longtime resident of the Ironbound Section of Newark until moving to Scotch Plains 3 years ago.
She is survived by spouse Jose Carlos de Jesus Pereira of 41 years; devoted and loving mother of Hugo Alexandre Pereira and his wife Allison and Paulo Jose Pereira and his wife Patricia; dear sister of Maria Gisela dos Anjos Batista of Portugal; cherished grandmother of Matthew Alexander, Evander Kurt, Emma Rose and Aaron Horacio.
Visitation for Adelia will be held on Thursday, February 13th from 6 – 9 pm at the Buyus Funeral Home 426 Lafayette St., at Wilson Ave. Newark, NJ 07105. Relatives and friends are welcome to attend.
Interment Portugal.
