Gerald Rodney Ross, 55, of Covert, passed away Wednesday, April 15, 2020 at the South Bend Memorial Hospital in South Bend, Indiana. He was born March 26, 1965 to Christine McGee. Gerald graduated from Covert High School with the Class of 1983. After years of service in the Army National Guard, Gerald went on to become a police officer for 25 years ending his career in law enforcement at Ottawa Township in Edwardsburg, before retiring in 2018. Gerald loved to travel!!! He always encouraged his sons to go out and see the world. Another passion of his was sports!! He enjoyed watching the Chicago White Sox and New Orleans Saints, while attending various other sporting events live.

He is preceded in death by his mother – Christine McGee and brother – Troy Ross.

Gerald is survived by his children – Damien Ross of South Haven, Llandon Ross of South Bend, Indiana, and Austin Ross of Niles. He is also survived by a host of other family and friends.

A visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Thursday, April 23, 2020 at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home in South Haven. Gerald will be laid to rest at Covert Cemetery near his mother and brother.
