Ilene T. (Mickelson) Schloesser, 76, of Hibbing died Wednesday, Jan. 14, 1998, in her home.
Mrs. Schloesser was born to Edward and Vella (Eliassen) Mickelson on March 15, 1921, in Moorhead, Minn. She grew up in Detroit Lakes, Minn., and later moved to Lake Park, Minn., where she graduated from Lake Park High School in 1939 as valedictorian. She attended Fargo Hairdressing Academy, graduating in 1941. She married Donald Schloesser in Hibbing on June 2, 1943, and has resided in Hibbing ever since. She furthered her education at Hibbing Community College, where she took secretarial classes, after which she worked at Adams Clinic and Sears.
She was member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Hibbing and was an active member of the Peace Circle. She was a member of the National Chapter of the AARP until the year 2003, and was a member and past president of the local Chapter 2065 until it dissolved.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald in 1986; her parents; and her only brother, Elsworth.
She is survived by her sons, Corey (Sharon) and Terry (Marge), both of Hibbing; four grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; five step great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
Visitation: 6-8 p.m. today in Daniels Funeral Home, and 10 a.m. Saturday until the service at 11 in Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Hibbing. Rev. Lyle Rossing officiating. Burial in Maple Hill Cemetery.
