J. Poundstone, the farmer who was struck by a horse Thursday of this week, died last evening. The injury was received in a somewhat peculiar manner. It seems that Mr. Poundstone was trying to hitch the horse to the back of a wagon and while bending over to fasten the tethering rope, the horse, which had never before shown signs of viciousness, reared in the air, striking its unfortunate victim over the head and arm with its fore feet, crushing the base of his skull and fractured one arm. Dr. Saunders was immediately summoned but the injured man was beyond human aid and never recovered consciousness after the accident. Mr. Poundstone was 26 years old and leaves a wife to mourn his loss. The funeral will occur at his home near Badger.
