DOCTOR MURPHY DROPS DEAD IN YARD OF HOME

Dr. Thomas B. Murphy, aged 27, one of Lynn's youngest surgeons with offices, 117 North Common street, dropped dead as he stepped from his automobile in the driveway of his home, 5 Henry avenue, at 10:30 o'clock, Wednesday night. Death due to a heart attack was pronounced instantaneous. He had been in apparent good health.
The young surgeon had a fine practice and had been active in various organizations in Lynn and other places. He was a member of the Lynn hospital staff, Child welfare clinic and several medical fraternities. In fraternal life he was a member of Vallidolid Council , K of C; Lynn Aerle of Eagles, Montgomery court

He was born in Lynn Feb 13, 1897, the son of Michael and Catherine Murphy. He received his early education in St. Mary's school and St. John's Preparatory College, Danvers. He was graduated from Tufts Medical school in 1920 and then practiced at the Mercy hospital, Springfield.
Dr. Murphy's father is a foreman at the A.M. Creighton factory and two sisters Catherine L. and Theresa L. are teachers at the Washington school. Besides his father mother and these two sisters, he leaves two other sisters. Mrs. Mary Quirk wife of Dr. Thomas C. Quirk and Mrs. Sabina Fuller, the latter of Northfork Va., and two brothers, John F. and William both of Lynn.
