Albert Gettys, for many years’ past. A well-known plumber employed by Tyrone Gas and Water company, died at this home on Blair avenue yesterday morning after a lingering illness of a year or so from complications. He was the son of the late William and Mary Gettys, being born near Huntingdon, Nov. 29, 1860. He was reared to young manhood at his home there and came to Tyrone at the age of 22 and had lived here ever since. He was married thirty years ago at Hollidaysburg with Elizabeth Woomer of Bald Eagle, who survives with the following children: Mrs. J. C. Edmondson [Edmiston] of Mount Union; F. W. Gettys, of Tyrone, and one stepson, G. C. Woomer, of Pitcairn. He also leaves the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. Mattie Johnson and Mrs. William Marlin, of Huntingdon; Mrs. Belle Rudy, of Harrisburg; Mrs. Frank Garber, of Altoona; Mrs. Jane McCracken, of Altoona, and Mrs. Mary Diffenbaugh, of Tyrone. One half-brother, Edward Couch, of Chicago, also survives. “Bert” as he was familiarly known, had many friends in Tyrone who will regret to learn of his death. He was a member of the First Methodist church. Funeral services will be held at the late home at a time to be decided today.

TYRONE – The funeral of the late Albert Gettys will be held at 2 o’clock this afternoon, at the home on Blair avenue in charge of Rev. Edgar G. Sawyer, pastor of the First United Brethren church; interment in the Bald Eagle cemetery.
