Maud said that her first memories were of a covered wagon taking her family from Utah to Idaho in 1892 to live with her Grandmother Harriet Wolkitt Lee at a railroad camp in Beaver Canyon. She herself, lived into the “Jet Age” and the changes she and her children witnessed in one lifespan were staggering. After the death of her husband, Andrew Hansen in 1932, she raised four children by herself during the Great Depression. Maud and Andrew's six children were:
