My grandfather Hamann.He was known as A.M.Hamann or Art. He was the father of 9 children.They were Laura Hamann Finger, Kenneth Hamann,Everett Hamann, Maynard Hamann,Verna Hamann Haines,Eula Hamann Tripp,Lester Hamann,Milton Hamann,Mary Jane Hamann Peroutka Goertz.

Aaron M. Hamann Passes Away at Age of 67.
Aaron Michel Hamann passed away at his home in Northfield on May 27 at the age of 67 years, following an eight months' period of illness.
Mr. Hamann was born on March 31, 1877, at Castle Rock, Minn. On July 12, 1903 he was married to Kate Effie Bowles of Rantoul Kan. at Fort Ramson, N.D. They lived for three years at Rantoul, Kan. and since have lived in Castle Rock, Randolph, Millersburg, and the Northfield Community. Since last September, Mr. and Mrs. Hamann and their daughter Mary Jane, have lived in Northfield.
Surviving Mr. Hamann are his wife; nine children, Mrs. Donald Finger (Laura) of Little Prairie, Kenneth and Everett of Northfield, Maynard of Faribault, Mrs. Claude Haines ( Verna) and Mrs. Lloyd Tripp (Eula) of Northfield, Lester, who is in the Merchant Marines, Milton of Hanford, Wash. and Mary Jane of Northfield; two brothers, Fred C. of Castle Rock and Ben of the Little Prairie community; two sisters, Mrs. Willis Spencer of De Ford, Mich., and Mrs. George Curtis of Colton, Calif, and a number of nieces and nephews. There are fifteen grandchildren surviving him. He was preceded in death by two brothers, John and William.
"Art" as he was affectionately called, early had his "fear of God" transformed into a living faith. It was this faith and a desire to serve which lead him into a long period of Sunday school service. For many years he was the county superintendent of Sunday schools in Dakota county and did much in extending the work of that organization. While living at Millersburg, he served as superintendent of the Union Lake Sunday school for fifteen years. He became a member of the Tabor Evangelical church as a youth. To the best of his ability it was his sincere desire to be of service to his Lord wherever and whenever he could.
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon, May 29, at the Bierman Mortuary chapel and at 2:00 at the Methodist church, the Rev. LeRoy H. Klaus officiating. Lyle Leider, pastor of the Stanton and Randoph churches and a former Sunday school pupil of Mr. Hamann at the Union Lake Sunday school , assisted in the service. Mrs. Klaus and Mrs. Guy O. Karnes sang "Jesus, Lover of My Soul" and "Sweet Peace, the Gift of God's Love" with Mrs. Chester Fox at the organ. Interment was made at the Northfield cemetery, with Henry Damann, Carl Anderson, Herman and Hilton Johnson, and George and William Remick, all of Millersburg, as pallbearers.
Attending from away were Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Hamann, Edward and Alma Hamann of Buffton, Charles Hamann of Cannon Falls, Mrs. Anna Johnson and Mrs. Busse of Minneapolis, and many relatives and friends from Farmington, Randolph, Castle Rock, Webster, Faribault, and the Northfield Community.

Aaron Michel Hamann, known as "Art Hamann" died at his home in Northfield, following an eight month illness May 27, at the age of 67 years. Funeral services were conducted Monday, May 29 at the Methodist church in Northfield with Rev. LeRoy Klaus officiating, assisted by Lyle Lieder, pastor at Stanton and Randolph, who was for many years a pupil of Mr. Hamann's Union Lake Sunday school class.
Mrs. Kaines and Mrs. Klaus sang " Jesus Lover of My Soul" and "Sweet Peace, the Gift of God's Love" at the services. Henry Damann, Herman and Milton Johnson, Carl Anderson, George and William Remick of Millersburg were the pallbearers. Burial was in the Northfield cemetery with the Odd Fellows in charge of grave services.
Mr. Hamann was born at Castle Rock, March31, 1877, a son of Henry and Mary (Michel) Hamann. He was united in marriage with Kate Effie Bowles of Rantoul, Kansas, at Fort Ramson, North Dakota. They lived for three years at Rantoul, and since then have lived at Castle Rock, Randolph, Millersburg, and Northfield communities.
He leaves to mourn, besides his widow, nine children: Laura, (Mrs. Donald Finger) of Little Prairie; Maynard of Faribault; Kenneth, Mrs. Claude Haines (Verna); Mrs. Lloyd Tripp (Eula) and Mary Jane of Northfield; Lester of the Merchant Marines; Milton of Hanford, Wash. Two brothers, Fred C. of Castle Rock and Ben of the Little Prairie community; two sisters, Mrs. Willis Spencer of De Ford, Mich. and Mrs. Geroge Curtis of Colton, Calif; fifteen grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by two brothers John and William, also his parents.
Mr. Hamann was a faithful member of the Evangelical church since his youth and he was highly respected in the communities where he had lived and was well known by a host of friends.
