Geraldine Whalen, 89, went to be with her Lord on April 9, 2020 in her Oklahoma City home, with family at her side. Geraldine was born on September 5, 1930 in Tiskilwa, Illinois to Alfred Deloss and Eunice Cleo (Arbuckle) Kelly. Having graduated valedictorian of her high school in Princeton, Illinois, she attended the Apostolic Bible Institute in St. Paul, Minnesota where she met the love of her life, Robert Daniel Whalen. They have celebrated 69 wonderful years of marriage.
Their pastoral ministry began in 1952 in Ardmore, Oklahoma where they served 6 years. In 1958, they took pastorate of the Southeast United Pentecostal Church in Oklahoma City, serving 37 years. As Oklahoma District Superintendent’s wife, Geraldine founded the beloved Oklahoma District Annual Ladies Convention which has continued for 36 years. She is remembered as a graceful lady and leader who made a difference in her world. Geraldine was also a homemaker who loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Cleo Kelly and one sister, Ruby Hatter Hassell. She leaves cherished memories with her loving family: son, Robert Stuart Whalen and wife Linda; daughter, Patty Trent and husband Brad; daughter, Sally Steward and husband Mike; Grandchildren: Michael Steward, Jr. and wife Priscilla; Ronald Steward and wife Shelley; Michele Stevens; Austin Trent and wife, Melissa; Robert D. Whalen II and wife Nicole; Courtney Stiefer and husband Omar; Taylor Holt and wife Ruby; 11 great-grandchildren and numerous other family and friends.

Special recognition and gratitude is given to her many caregivers, especially Brianna and Marinette who lovingly cared for her to the end. She will be deeply missed by all.
