Bessie Roper Seigler Wofford, 97, formerly of Pendleton and Greenville, went to be with her Savior on Thursday, January 8, 2009 at Golden Living Center in Hendersonville, North Carolina.

She was the widow of Tillman L. Seigler of Pendleton and Toy L. Wofford of Greenville.
Mrs. Wofford was a native of Pickens County, a daughter of the late William Benjamin and Minnie Lee Howe Roper. She was a retired employee of Brandon Mills in Greenville and was a member of Washington Avenue Baptist Church. Mrs. Wofford worked many years at Gerrish Milliken Textile Plant in Pendleton.
Surviving are a son Larry Seigler and his wife Carol McKinney Seigler of Travelers Rest; 3 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild, 2 step grandchildren and 1 step great grandchild.
In addition to her husbands she was predeceased by nine sisters, Lillie Land, Annie Roper, Ira Brooks, Lucia Brooks, Willie Mae “Bill” Phillips, Lola Grace Roper, Devora Paxton, Katie Louise Roper, and Blanche Nelms*. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. (Blanche's mother was Frances Pressley--according to her death index)
Funeral services will be held at 12 noon Saturday at The Howze Mortuary Chapel with a short Graveside service to follow at Pendleton First Baptist Church Cemetery in Pendleton, SC.

The family will receive friends from 11 until noon Saturday at the mortuary prior to the service.

Memorials may be made to Pendleton First Baptist Church, 351 S. Broad Street, Pendleton, SC 29670

The family will be at the home at 129 Gaston Drive, Travelers Rest.
