Julian Dewayne (J.D.) Peppers age passed away Saturday, October 07, 2006 at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center.
He was born on September 7, 1944 to Virgil and Lora (Cockrell) Peppers in Haleyville, AL. J.D. graduated from Double Springs High School, Alabama in 1962. He married Shirley Clark in 1965. They had 3 children. On October 14, 1978 he married Patricia (Patty) E Richards at North Presbyterian Church in La Crosse. They moved to Houston in 1980, where they shared their lives with their beloved pet Henry. J.D. began his telephone career as a contract cable splicer shortly out of high school, for many years he traveled the country perfecting his trade. In 1975 he settled in the La Crosse area and worked his way up to regional engineering manager. Later he worked with his son's Murfreesboro, TN based company TelPlexus.
He is survived by his wife, Patty. His 3 children - Richard (Julie) of Murfreesboro TN, Lora (Greg) Peppers-Roth of McGaheysville, VA and Rhonda (Kevin) Bruce of Bowling Green KY, grandchildren Patrick "Tyler" Bruce, Sydney Peppers, Richard Peppers and Gabriella Peppers. He is further survived by his sister, Janice (Rex) Baker, Haleyville, AL and her children Becky (Paul) McVoy, Tim (Tina) Baker and Missy (Randy) Brimer and their children, his Aunts, Alpha Cockrell, of Haleyville, AL and Agnes Lovett of Birmingham, AL, and his ex-wife, Shirley Kinser, of Bee Springs, KY. Also surviving is his mother-in-law, Ruth Richards of La Crosse and brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert (Cheryl) Richards, Jaye (Mike) Tischer and David (Liz) Richards.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Robert Richards in 1989.
Memorial Services will be held at 11 am at North Presbyterian Church, La Crosse, on Tuesday, October 10, 2006 with the Rev. Scott Skogen officiating. Friends may call at the Hoff Funeral Home in Houston from 4 - 7 on Monday, October 9 and from 10 - 11 at the church on Tuesday.
