LODI, May 21 - David Hayes, 25, of Lodi, died unexpectedly at Tompkins County Memorial hospital in Ithaca yesterday afternoon (May 20, 1955) after a five-week illness.
He was born in Lodi adn had lived his entire lifetime in this vicinity. For the past four years, he had been employed at Sampson.
He leaves a widow, Fredea Westervelt Hayes; a daughter, Vicky Lynn; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Hayes of Valois; five sisters, Betty, Shirley and Nellie Hayes of Valois; Mrs. Charles McCheyne of Hayts Corners; and Mrs. Helen Quigley of Caywood; and seven brothers, Harold, Frank, Jerry and Harry Hayes, all of Valois, Donald of Oklahoma, Richard of Odessa and John of Elmira.
Friends may call at the Early & Covert Funeral Home in Ovid, where services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday. Burial will be at West Lodi Cemetery.
