One of Lawrence Township's more prominent and valued citizens was lost to that community on the morning of Thursday, July 22, in the death of Alonzo A. Ardary, which occurred at his home following an illness of three weeks due to complications.
The deceased was the son of Elisha Arday and was born in Lawrence Township on January 4, 1853, making his age 86 years, six months and 17 days. Most of his life was spent in that community, where he engaged in farming until the past few years when his health forced him to retire from active life. Mr. Ardary was a substantial citizen and will be greatly missed in his community.
On April 2, 1893, he was united in marriage to Ida Cuffman, who survives, along with two daughters, Mrs. Pearl Mitchell of Cleveland, Ohio, and Mrs. Annie Flood of Lawrence Township. One half-brother, John Ardary of Curwensville, and five grandchildren, also survive.
Funeral services were held in the Bloomington Church on Sunday afternoon, July 25, Rev. E. Roy Hauser of Clearfield officiating. Burial was made in the Bloomington Cemetery.
