Aaron Platt(sic), 22 years old, oil field worker, was fatally wounded here, Tuesday night is the result of an accidental discharge of a gun which fell from a motor car he was entering. Platt, an employee of the Twin States Oil company, had finished a midnight lunch at the Corner cafe with his driller, a man named White. They were on their way to a well in the Pearson district where they were employed.
After completing their lunch the men went to the automobile. Platt opened the door and the gun fell discharging when it struck the running board. The bullet entered Platt's body ranging upwards. He was taken to the Shawnee Muncipal hospital where he died at 4 a m.
Platt is survived by his wife who resided at Pontotoc. Funeral services were held at the Mission cemetery where he was buried.
