Mr. Wenger played the violin, the piano and the organ, and he composed a song two years ago, ''Father of Heavenly Light,'' that was sung at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Ft. Wright on New Year's Day.
Mr. Wenger , 92, of Ft. Wright, was a religious man who prayed often - especially after his wife, Ruth, died in 1986.
''Everybody loved him. He was daddy to everybody. I don't think he had an enemy in the world,'' said a daughter, Barbara Hellmann of Ft. Wright.
Mr. Wenger died at 3:48 p.m. Monday at the hospice at St. Elizabeth Medical Center North, Covington. He was a retired self-employed bookkeeper and a member of St. Agnes Church. A son, Stanley M. Wenger , died in 1985.
Mr. Wenger enjoyed gardening and painting and had excellent penmanship, his daughter said.
Mrs. Hellmann said that after her mother died, her father ''promised God ... that he would pray continuously. He was really devoted to Jesus and Mary. For me, it was a privilege to know him.''
Other survivors include another daughter, Sandy Wenger of Covington; a brother, Gerald Wenger of Covington; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the church. Burial will be in Mother of God Cemetery, Ft. Wright. Memorials are suggested to St. Elizabeth Hospice, 401 E. 20th St., Covington 41014. Ronald B. Jones Funeral Home, Covington, is in charge of arrangements.
