Laurie Elaine (Small) Boyce, 53, of Baraboo, lost her battle with cancer after beating it five times on Monday, May 8, 2017. This time it took her fast.

Laurie was born Sept. 21, 1963, to Don L. and Lois Small. She grew up at the round barn on Rocky Point Road and then the family farm on Man Mound Road. As she grew up she was involved in 4-H, Girl Scouts and many other activities. She graduated from Baraboo High School in 1981. She started work at Baraboo Hardee's summer of 1981 where she met the love of her life, Timothy D. Boyce. October of 1982 they were joined together in marriage. July of 1983 they grew their family by a daughter, Cortney E. Boyce. Then in December of 1985 by a son, Brendan T. Boyce. Their family grew up one mile from their family farm on Trapp Road.

Laurie is survived by her husband, Tim Boyce; son, Brendan Boyce; daughter,Cortney Horkan (Thomas Clay); family pet, Monty; father, Donald (Mary) Small; brothers, Donald (Lisa) Small, Dan (Roxanne) Small; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and many other young ones she called her sons, daughters and grandchildren.

Laurie began her fight with breast cancer in 1992 and her sixth bout of cancer ended her life with loved ones by her side. She was a loving wife, mother, friend, aunt and team member of Culvers.

Laurie was preceded in death by both sets of grandparents; mother, Lois Small; sister, Linda Zipsie; four aunts; three uncles; several cousins; and her dog, Buddy.

Visitation will be held from 1-3 p.m. Saturday, May 20, 2017, at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses. A funeral service will take place at 3 p.m. with Scott Baxter officiating. In lieu of flowers, monetary donations may be made to the funeral home to assist with funeral expenses.

The family would like to thank Agrace Hospice for their wonderful care and service.
