Word was received in Redlands today of the recent death of Mrs. Torrey Pike Abbott, 83, who was a home economics teacher at Redlands high school from 1920 to 1950.
Mrs. Abbott, who moved to Laguna Beach after retiring from teaching in 1950, died Christmas Day at the San Antonio Community hospital in Upland. Burial was in Bellevue Cemetery in Ontario. Mrs. Abbott leaves a daughter, Mrs. Jane Fletcher of Albuquerque, N.M.; a son, Arnold W. Abbott, MD, of Ontario and four grandchildren.

Torrey served as Regent of the Arrowhead Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (1950-1952).
