DUNCAN, SC - Carey Melton Coggins, 67, of 851 Robinson Road, died August 3, 1989, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center after one year of illness.
He was a retired security guard for Avco and a member of Reidville First Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Margaret Hughes Coggins of the home; a daughter, Trudy Johnson of Duncan; two sons, James Coggins and Billy Coggins, both of Duncan; three brothers, Earl Coggins and Wilbert Coggins, both of Reidville, and Carl Coggins of Greer; and two sisters, Evelyn Rogers of Greer and Beatrice Neal of Woodruff.
Services: 3 p.m. Sunday at Abner Creek Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation: 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at The Wood Mortuary, Greer.
The family is at the home of Trudy Johnson, 702 South Dantzler Road, Duncan.
