Paul was the son of Ray Abner and Effie Berryman. About 1944 he married Mary Mullen and they had three children: Thomas, Linda and Paul. He was a retired sheet-metal worker for the old Louisville & Nashville Railroad Co.'s South Louisville shop. Paul died at home at the age of 71.
