November 30, 1944, at his home, Ashton, Md., Dr. HERBERT SERGEANT ADAMS, beloved husband of Sarah Thomas Moore Adams and father of Roderick, Herbert and Douglas Adams, and Mrs. Helen Bradford and Mrs. Mary Bentley. Dr. Adams rests at the Warner E. Humphrey funeral home, 8434 Georgia ave., Silver Spring, Md. Services on Sunday, December 3, at 3 p.m., at St. John's Episcopal Church, Olney, Md. Interment Woodside Cemetery, Brinklow, Md.

Dr. Herbert Sergeant Adams


Funeral services were held on Sunday, Dec. 3, 1944, at St. John's Episcopal church, Olney, for Dr. Herbert Sergeant Adams, 77, a Montgomery County Veterinary surgeon for the past 28 years, who died Thursday at his home in Ashton, after a short illness.


The son of the late Andrew and Mary S. Adams, he was a native of New York and received his education at Toronto University. Before establishing his practice in Ashton, he was located in Baltimore County.


Besides his widow, Mrs. Sarah T. M. Adams, he is survived by three sons, Roderick and Herbert H. Adams, both of Ashton, and Douglas Adams, Roseland, N.J., and two daughters, Mrs. Sidney Bradford, Wilmington, Del., and Mrs. Mary Bentley, Ashton.


Burial was in Woodside Cemetery, Brinklow.
