Albert Schmidt -- Services for former Waterloo resident Albert Schmidt, 70, of Brooklyn, will be at 10 a.m. Friday, April 16, 1976 at Keams-Dykeman Chapel, with burial in Midwest Garden of Memories. He died at 3:10 p.m. Tuesday at Allen Memorial Hospital. Friends wishing may contribute in his name to the American Cancer Society, Black Hawk County Chapter. He was born in Allison Jan. 21, 1906, son of Conrad and Minnie Fick Schmidt, He married Liale Springer Sept. 28, 1930, in Dumont. He retired from Rath Packing Co., where he was employed as a janitor, in 1971. Survivors include his wife; a son, Leslie, of Sunnyvale, Calif.; a daughter, Mrs. Donald Grandon of La Porte City; six brothers, Henry of Greene, Martin of Charles City, Leonard of Waverly, Paul of Allison, and Vera and Harvey, both of Clarksville; two sisters, Mrs. Anna Rover of Greene, and Mrs. Laura Vander Kolk of 623 Riehl St.; and two half-sisters, Mrs. Louise Aswegan of Parkersburg, and Mrs. Mary Poppe of Greene.
