He married Effie M. McElroy on September 11, 1898, in Council Bluffs, Iowa. At the time of his marriage, Wallace was already established as a Barber and jeweler (doing mostly watch repair) in Thurman.
Wallace and Effie had two sons, Harry and Ross, in Thurman, during their marriage and by 1920 the family had moved west to Oregon. Effie preceded him a little after eleven years in Oregon, in 1932, due to complications of diabetes.
Wallace later re-married and many years later he died on his birthday on February 18, 1954, in Hillsboro, Oregon, at the age of 79, and was buried there ... near the two women closest to him in his lifetime.
