Richard Henry Mathews, 87, a former coal miner, died Friday at the Brown Nursing home.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Monday at Lilly's funeral home with burial in Laurel Hill cemetery.
Surviving are two sons, John and James, of Des Moines, and six daughters, Mrs. Dell Pyle, Pershing, Ia.; Mrs. Rose Lindgren, Mrs. Laura Carter and Mrs. Mabel Payne, all of Des Moines; Mrs. Lulu Granger, Del Paso Heights, Cal.; and Mrs. Violet Johnson, Williamson, Ia.
