The following is her Obituary which ran in "The Coopersville Observer," March 25, 1887, Page 1.
Died, March 16th, 1887, at her residence, Elsie, beloved wife of George A. Lawton, aged 26 years, of consumption. The deceased was a kind and loving wife, and beloved by all who knew her. She leaves an affectionate husband and one little son to mourn her loss.
Thy dear precious form, we shall see it no more,
We have tenderly laid it to rest,
With tears in our eyes, but a smile in the heart,
Believing our father knew best.
May we, who survive thee, work faithfully on,
And gain at the last the bright crown thou hast won.
