Spring Valley, IL - The Rev. Sylvester Jesiolowski, 93, of 722 N. Terry, Spring Valley, died at 11:58 p.m. Monday Aug. 6, 2007, in St. Margaret Hospital, Spring Valley.

The Rev. Jesiolowski was born Dec. 19, 1913, in LaSalle, Ill., to Adam and Anastasia (Stachowiak) Jesiolowski.

He is survived by one brother, Leonard Jesiolowski of Spring Valley; one sister-in-law, Mary Jesiolowski of LaSalle; nieces; and one nephew.

Three brothers and a sister preceded him in death.

The Rev. Jesiolowski was ordained on June 8, 1941. He then served as an assistant pastor at Immaculate Conception, Monmouth in 1941; Sacred Heart, Rock Island in 1942; St. Hyacinths, LaSalle in 1943; St. Paul's, Macomb in 1947; St. Patrick's, Bloomington in 1948.

He served as pastor at St. Augustine's, St. Augustine in 1952; St. Michael's, Bement in 1957; Holy Trinity, Moline in 1962; founding pastor of Christ the King, Moline in 1967; and co-pastor of Christ the King, Moline in 1976. He became pastor of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Spring Valley in 1979. He reached senior priest status and pastor emeritus of St. Anthony in 1994.

Burial will follow at St. Hyacinth Cemetery, LaSalle.
