Elva "Bunny" Accola
November 22, 1927 - May 5, 2023

Elva "Bunny" Accola, 95, Pittsville, died May 5, 2023. She was a Pittsville Elementary teacher from 1964 to 1987. She and her husband, Neal, operated a dairy farm near Pittsville for many years.

A memorial service will be held at noon Saturday, May 20, 2023, at Pittsville Community Center. Friends may visit with family from 11 a.m. until service time and after the service.

Bunny was born near Ogema and grew up on a dairy farm near Stetsonville, where her father also had an electrician and appliance business. Beginning at age 19, she taught all eight grades for two years in a one-room school. She taught a few years at Park Falls and Marshfield. She taught at Pittsville Elementary five years as a substitute and 18 years full-time.

Bunny was known for her cookies, which she made into her 90s. She enjoyed cats, birds, gardening and travel. Most important to her was her Christian faith and fellowship.

Preceding in death were husband Neal Accola, son Wilton Accola, sister Arliss Marcott, and parents Alfred D. H. and Amber (Guth) Birkholz.

Surviving are son Lee Accola; daughter-in-law Julie Evans, 4 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Grandchildren are Lee's children, Heidi (Robb) Berghammer of CO, Gary (Amber) Accola of Wilson, and Wayne (Tiffany Johnson) Accola of Pittsville; and Wilton's son, David (Monica) Accola of Coon Rapids, MN.
