The death of Mrs. Gus Boone, who formerly lived in Arcadia, is deeply regretted. This sad event occurred on Monday soon after arriving at the sanitarium in Shreveport where she was carried for an operation for appendicitis. She was stricken with a very severe attack on Saturday at the home of her mother, Mrs. Lock Stuart [sic: Lack Stewart] near town. Mrs. Boone's nine-month-old twin babies, from nursing their mother, became infected and passed away, one of Tuesday and the other one on Wednesday, at home of their grandmother.
Mrs. Boone is survived by her husband, Mr. Gus Boone; her mother, Mrs. Lock Stuart; a little son about nine years old; several sisters; and other relatives. The short time that Mr. and Mrs. Boone lived in Arcadia, they made a number of friends, who are grieved at the untimely death, and the double sorrow which her husband is called upon to sustain, and their deepest sympathy is extended to him and other sorrowing relatives.
