Sudie Jean Kates Jones, age 84, of Charlotte NC, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday March 26th, 2020 at Huntersville Health and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born on February 10th, 1936 in Micaville, NC. Sudie was the daughter of late Carl and Violet Kates.
Sudie was a kind and gentle woman who blessed every life that she touched. She was well known for her kindness, compassion and patience. Sudie was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She loved the beach, camping, fishing and cooking. She was an active member of Sunset Road Baptist Church. Sudie was a one of a kind woman and there will never be anyone like her. She lit up every room and will be deeply missed by her family and all the friends that knew her.
Sudie leaves behind her beloved husband of 66 years, Clarence Jones; son, Tracy Jones of Charlotte, NC; daughter Robin and Joe Tarleton of Gastonia, NC; two brothers, Ronnie Kates of Burnsville, NC and Jerry Kates of Charlotte NC; three grandchildren, Dalton Tarleton, Kristen Tarleton, Kyle and Kristen Jones; and two great-grandchildren, Austin and Colton Jones. She was preceded in death by her son Clarence Roger Jones and two sisters, Judy Ellis and Mary Penland.
Her private funeral service will be held at 11 am on Sunday, March 29th, 2020 at Sunset Road Baptist Church. There will be a grave side service held at 4pm that same day at Fred Young Cemetery located in Green Mountain, NC.
