Joseph Lynn Lee was born December 23, 1931 in Farmington, NM to William Lionel and Elva Arreta (Bond) Lee.
After what would be his final battle with caner, he left this earthly home to return to his Heavenly home on May 12, 2014.
Lynn attended all levels of schools in Farmington, NM, where he participated in numerous sports and other childhood activities.
On June 29, 1950, soon after high school graduation, Lynn was sealed to his high school sweetheart Carol Jeanne Irvin in the Mesa Temple for time and all eternity.
He completed his Bachelor’s degree and later earned a Master’s degree from Northern Arizona University.
Lynn was passionate about family, church, and education. He always felt his mission on the earth was to bring education to the American Indian people he so dearly loved.
He was involved in various levels of education throughout his career in both Colorado and Utah.
He later co-founded and directed the College of Eastern Utah, San Juan Campus (now Utah State University-Blanding Campus) for nearly 25 years.
Lynn is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, where he served diligently in various callings. His greatest calling was that of serving in the Monticello Temple as an ordinance worker with his wife Carol by his side.
Lynn loved and supported his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren in any endeavor they pursued.
He is preceded in death by his wife and love of his life, Carol Jeanne Lee, his parents, three brothers, two sisters, and one great grandson, William Ben Lee.
He is survived by children; Carol Lynn (Joseph) Barton of Monticello; Monty (Lana) Lee of Blanding; Larry (Susan) Lee of Blanding; Laura (Bobby) Robbins of Phoenix, AZ; David (Karleah) Lee
