met her husband, John Joseph Moryn in 1953, and they were married on April 30, 1955. They
raised their seven children in Wisconsin: Jennifer (Tom) Zurick, Jeff (Ann), Jim (Lisa), Jodi
(Jayson) Kadrmas, John, Joel (Shelly), and Julie (Jerry) Christensen. The family grew to include
21 grandchildren: Angela, Jeff, Katie, Andrew, Rachael, Sarah, Quinn, Jake, Connor, Jenni, Justin, Adam, Lexi, Caleb, Javen, Kelsen, Tyler, Nick, Jesse, Kelsey, Kyle, and 14 great-grandchildren: Caden, Wyatt, Elyse, Jack, Joanie, Tyler, Chloe, Adelaide, Emery, Addisen, Bennett, Lincoln, Nolan, and Isla.
Edna’s greatest joy was her family. She and John hosted weekly Sunday dinners, serving some 25-30 family members a gourmet meal without complaint or help. She had a knack for making each person feel like they were her favorite – and they were! Edna had a true gift for conversation and was able to laugh easily, often at herself.
Many of her grandchildren will tell you that their fondest memories involved playing golf and talking to her in a golf cart. She was an amazing storyteller recounting events in her life as bedtime stories to her grandchildren.
Edna enjoyed bowling, horseshoes, and golf (was even Club Champion). She never learned to swim but gamely went canoeing and on houseboat excursions with her husband.
She is now at peace in heaven with her beloved husband. Edna was very loved and will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Preceded in death by her husband, John, her parents, James and Anna Ross, and siblings: Stan Ross, Stella Wolf, Dorothy Bendorf, Robert Ross, and Arlene Bonnett. Survived by siblings: Jean Rauscher, Lorraine Gauster, Carol Gillespie, Richard Ross, and James Ross.
A private burial will be held at Fort Snelling with a celebration of life to be held at a later date.
